Good show, good show!

On Sunday, we travelled to Bradford’s Great Victoria Hotel.  We had a great time at the show and met some lovely people who we look forward to working with over the coming months.  We also enjoyed feeding our famous take-aways to those Bradfordonians who had the paper munchies!

21st Invitations – Fashion is very important…

“Fashion is very important. It is life-enhancing and, like everything that gives pleasure, it is worth doing well” – Vivienne Westwood

We have just completed working on a Vivienne Westwood fan’s 21st Birthday Party.  The theme of the party was fashion, with cocktails and Westwood inspired cakes and canapes.  Our brief was to create a Vivienne Westwood inspired invitation using Amy’s favourite colour pink, with lots of sparkles.  Above you can see the moodboard and below are the different directions we took the theme for the samples.  This was great fun because roeni loves Westwood too!

Sample 1: Orb (chosen design)

Printed on a heavy white card and finished with clear and hot pink diamantes, this invitation features, Amy’s 21st Orb, inspired by Vivienne Westwoods signature orb. This design was presented in a hot pink envelopes.

Sample 2: Twenty One Shoes

This sample was again printed on textured white card. The 21 forming the shape of one of Vivienne Westwood’s iconic shoes.

Sample 3:  Rebel

This design is inspired by Vivienne Westwood’s original shop SEX.  The design features a custom tartan incorporating my client’s favourite colours.

Pirate Invitations – See my ‘Booty’ get down!

Recently roeni was asked to design invitations for an 18th Birthday Party.  Our brief was pirates, but as it was an 18th too, I wanted to make it a little cooler than your average and give the invitations a ‘club flyer’ feel.  Above you can see the moodboard we compiled and below are the three samples we submitted to our client for approval.

Sample 1: Mutiny

This design is a single piece of recycled textured card.
A5 in size and printed with black ink.

Sample 2: Ahoy

This sample was printed on stiff 100% recycled board.

Sample 3:  Treasure Map

This map features the outline of Leicestershire, as well as important landmarks, such as the party venue.

I think this design would look great presented rolled up inside a black poster tube. You could even include gold chocolate coins for your guests.

Now with added celebrity – ROENI POW(D)ER

Now with added celebrity...

We’ve been incredibly busy lately working on all the Summer weddings and events, and we are continuing to attract lots of different and exciting clients.  More recently we have been working for a few well known names which is great news for us as we continue to spread the roeni word far and wide.  I am really pleased to have had the opportunity to work on some of the projects that have come our way recently and hope to continue improving our formula!

roeni design for the Beauty & the Bride event @ Woodlands, Leeds

Our design for the Beauty & the Bride event at Woodland, Leeds.

Look out for our stationery at the Beauty & the Bride event at the Woodlands Hotel, Leeds.  The event includes a fashion show and expert advice from the Nicky Clarke salon in Leeds and Trish McEvoy, Harvey Nichols.

We have supplied the E-flyer, Programmes and Table Numbers for this event. Please contact Woodlands if you are interested in attending the event.

Case Study – James & Hayley

As part of this blog I want to continue to demonstrate cool and original ways you can have fun with and use event stationery to convey your own personalities and event themes to your guests. What better way than introducing you to some of our past clients and showing you the work that we produced for their events.

As nobody ever wants to be the first ones, I’ll get in there and start with the design Hayley and I had for our wedding…..

Brief:   Parisian Space – James & Hayley

Engaged in Paris, traditional church wedding (Day), National Space Centre (Evening).
Hayley and I wanted to divide our day into two distinct sections, Day = Tradition, Evening = Space age Disco.  We wanted a design which incorporated the different elements of our ‘wedding story’.  The design started with the Eiffel Tower, which is where we got engaged a year before the wedding.  Using this as a starting point, at the bottom of the tower I added the actual church doors that we would be coming out of as man and wife along with roses to represent the traditional part of the day.  As our reception was to be held at the National Space Centre, we added the solar system, orbiting the top of the tower, complete with disco ball planets to represent our space age disco reception.  Through out the stationery we also added diamantes in black, grey and clear to add sparkle and  included different pieces of script along the side of the Eiffel Tower.  On the day invitation Hayley is asking for a nice dress and sparkly shoes and I am asking for a party!

The evening invitation was updated to include giant boom boxes in place of the roses and people were added dancing on the disco balls.

The order of service had a concert programme feel to it.  You can see excerpts of this within the examples page on our the main website.  Our final card sent to our guests was a Thank you card. This was the same graphic we used for the main invitation, however this time it featured us stood in front of the church doors at the bottom of the invitation.  This card was presented inside a clear vellum envelope and black wallet, which contained a mix cd as a keepsake for our guests.

We have used this design for our DVD, photograph album covers and as a canvas print.  Around the wedding I also produced several T-shirts for people featuring elements of the above designs and the ‘Lucky in love’ graphic from our Order of Service booklet.

roeni ‘vs’ the credit crunch

Lets talk global economic crisis, current situations and credit crunches!  I just wanted to let you know some of the things that we do here at roeni to help you through these grey and gloomy times….

Did you know:

1. We don’t charge wedding tax?

The charge often applied to things just because you mention that you are getting married!

2. We don’t have hidden charges.

  • The £25.00 design fee we charge is a one off payment which covers the development of your moodboard and samples.  We then work with you to develop your favourite ideas into your perfect invitation.
  • Envelopes are included in the prices quoted.
  • Printed names and addresses are complimentary because it looks nice.

3. We work to your budget.

Just because your boss decided not to give you a 3% raise this year, you don’t have to compromise on style. Lets talk about your budget and find ways to work with it.  I can recommend different materials, sizes and ideas.  Just because we offer a bespoke service doesn’t mean that we are necessarily more expensive, we just like good design and think you should have fun with event stationery.

4. Order as and when you need things.

You don’t have to order everything up front.  We can work on the different pieces as and when you require them.  Just pay for what you need when you need it, this way there are no nasty big bills.  Also, if you ever need an odd invitation for someone you forgot or need to upgrade people, just email and we’ll post you the item right away.

Q:What do Roeni & Kylie have in common? A:We’ve both played the NEC!

Last weekend we attended The National Wedding Show.  It was fun catering for so many people, we had chopsticks for all and had a great time telling everyone about our service.  We met some lovely people at our stand and would like to thank all of those who have signed up with us so far…. we look forward to cooking up a treat just for you!
