Wham! It’s Christmas at Roeni…
For the last month we have been playing the Wham Greatest hits CD without skipping Last Christmas, whilst the briefs have been flying in for bespoke Christmas cards. I thought it about time that we shared a few of the designs online.
Working with the same philosophy as always, we have been encouraging businesses to give those horrible folders full of dreary corporate Christmas cards a miss… afterall as George says, once bitten twice shy. Everyone has recieved one of those cards at some stage, maybe even wrapped up and sent with a note telling you they loved you and meant it. Hopefully by now they are realising that they are indeed a fool as that card blended in with the other 50 and they did indeed give it away the very next day, to that recycling bin at Tesco.
Below are some of the designs I have completed over the last month or so. We have the sock company who are sending a cheeky sock puppet Christmas Card, complete with goggly eyes. A sure fire way to be remembered by their buyers!
There is the Digital Printing Solutions Christmas card, featuring a Christmas wish list of all of their key products… Lady Gaga would be proud of the product placement on this Christmas card, defiantly better than the jovial ‘Merry Christmas’ written in the snow!
We have a pub card featuring a wreath made up of cutlery and finished with red diamantes. A card featuring eight cows for a cow fanatic and a photgrahers card featuring a lens bauble, a negative strip pattered bauble and a lip shaped bauble to represent their smiling clients.
Amongst the many Personal Christmas cards I have completed, is a vintage style save the date / Merry Christmas which serves as the introduction for Chris and Hannah’s forthcoming wedding. I look forward to sharing this exciting vintage range with you in 2011. Finally, what better feature on a Christmas card than Bo, wishing all her family and friends a very Merry Crim-Bo…. Featuring your Children on your Christmas cards (in a cool way) instantly brings a smile to all of your family and friend’s faces…
Paper Rose
The Paper Rose range of stationery is both simplistic and elegant; conveyed through the delicacy of the rose design, and the subtlety of the chosen colours and text fonts. This range of wedding stationery incorporates a classic theme and transforms this into a contemporary and stylish design. The freshness of the design is also complimentary to the Bride and Groom’s chosen wedding venue in Frigiliana, Spain. The Paper Rose range included Invitations, Wedding Breakfast Menus, Adhesive Wallpaper Table Plan, and Ribbon-tied Labels (which were attached to fans, given as keepsake to guests). The Wedding Invitations were printed on to White laid conquerer card, finished with an individual grey diamond, and presented in white envelopes. The labels continue with the Paper Rose design, displaying the names of the Bride and Groom and their special date, tied with a grey ribbon. The exclusively designed Adhesive Table Plan will be feautured in our upcoming Magazine Luxe, where we will be showing you how the Wallpaper works and how this maybe something you will want to incorporate within your very own range of Roeni stationery.
Tweet Me…
The inspiration for this exclusive range of wedding stationery is the social networking website Twitter. After starting her blog, Bride On Time, the Bride began to keep followers up to date with the progress of her wedding plans, and met all wedding suppliers, for example make-up artist, hair stylist and photographer, through her blog. The design is based on the format of Twitter, incorporating birds and Twitter fonts within the range. For the wedding invitation, the Bride and Groom’s initials are presented in silver grey, with small hearts and two love birds perched on the lettering, in hot pink. This is placed up on a discreet montage of the love birds, in a pale grey, printed onto pearlescent card, with a single diamond placed on the Bride’s initial. The bird montage was re-worked for the evening invitation, this time presented in Hot Pink, a strong contrast to the subtlety of the silver grey used for the day invitation, this design was printed onto pearlescent card as an A5 postcard. The influence of Twitter follows through to the table stationery where the Twitter ‘Tweet’, is reinvented and used for both the table plan and place names. The Tables are each named after one of the Bride’s followers and wedding suppliers, the table names and the table plan are presented within a ‘Tweet’ shape, and uses the Twitter font recreating a table ‘Tweet’. The table plan in presented in an ornate white frame, complimenting this unique and contemporary design, making it classic and elegant. The place names, are individually cut ‘Tweet’ shapes displaying the guest’s name in hot pink lettering, with the caption “Sat here about 10 seconds ago”, giving the stationery a playful edge. The Bride and Groom also had signs designed for their cheese tower and guest book, which again carried the theme of Twitter and the ‘Tweet’ throughout. ‘Tweet me’ will be featured on our forthcoming magazine Luxe. T is for Ten Year Tea Party…
This range of stationery was created to celebrate the renewal of vows and ten years of marriage. The theme for the celebration is based on a Vintage Tea Party, incorporating a hand-designed doilie using elements relevant to the clients and their special day, for example a treble clef, an anchor, teapot and the anniversary date, are all included. The vintage influence is echoed by the silver and mint green used throughout the stationery, keeping a classy, chic edge. The personalised doilie design was used for 3 separate invitations within the range; for an electronic mailer, the renewal of vows service and for the Tea Party reception. Printed onto marbled card, finished with an iridescent diamond and presented in a metallic silver envelope, this vintage design makes the classic, contemporary. In addition to the stationery range, cupcake toppers were made for the tea party; teapots cut out from rice paper, an added extra which really complimented the developed design. A full feature on this Vintage Tea Party range, will be included in the forthcoming Haus of Roeni’s magazine Luxe.
This Year’s Must-have Christmas Cards…

Passion For Fashion…
The design for this Graduation Invitation follows on from Amy’s 21st Birthday Invitation, where a personalised orb was developed, an influence taken form the work of fashion designer Vivienne Westwood. Based on a traditional graduation scroll, the invitation re-invents this in a stylish and contemporary way; reflecting a passion for fashion and designer accessories. The main invitation is printed on to A5 brilliant white smooth card where the orb is embellished with a Fuscia pink diamond adding a touch of sparkle to the design. Rolled and presented in a metallic card tube, which is finished with a cut-out black satin bow sticker and draped with a Westwood-inspired pearl necklace making this invitation a must have accessory for the Summer Graduation season!
I want to wake up in that city that doesn’t sleep…
After proposing and sharing some extra special memories together, New York was chosen by the clients as the overall theme for the design of their wedding stationery. The stationery combines an assortment of polaroid photographs of the city’s most famous sights, along with a personalised graphic of a heart and the New York skyline, along with a diamond symbolising the Groom’s proposal. The table stationery too incorporates the city, by naming each table after one of it’s most famous sights. Each table is represented by a polaroid photograph, each is numbered and pin pointed on a street map of the city running along side the seating plan, enhancing the chosen theme in a stylish and original way. The guest place names for this particular design are a modern twist on the idea of the ‘big apple’. Each place name is printed onto an over-sized fruit sticker, and placed on to a green apple, adding fun and diversity to the design. This New York inspired design creates a distinctive, unique and personal range of stationery, adding that extra bit of style to that extra special day.
Fifty is the new Forty…
For this 50th Birthday invitation, an array of photographs from throughout the years with friends and family, have been arranged to create a montage of memories to mark the celebration of Julie’s 50 years. This particular design demonstrates that photographs can be used in a stylish and playful way, whilst creating something very personal for the individual. The black and white photographs, along with the chosen text, is complimented by the splash of red, making the design bold and contemporary. Printed on to A5 brilliant white smooth card and teamed with red envelopes, makes the perfect combination.

If you go down to the woods today…
Styling your table in a relevant and personal way can make your event so much more stylish and unique. This particular design takes inspiration from the chosen wedding venue, Bunchrew House Hotel in Inverness, where often the Wedding ceremony takes place underneath the ancient Cedar, known as “The Loving Tree”, in the grounds of the 17th century Scottish mansion. In order to compliment the fabulous venue and its history, both the table plan and table names incorporate muted, natural tones and wood grain, mixing both traditional and contemporary styles. Printed onto premium photographic paper, the design presented on a background of wood grain, incorporates the Bride and Grooms initials; a modern twist on a traditional woodcarving, along with an elegant script and illustration of a Cedar tree. The individual table names, each named after a different tree, the top table after Bunchrew’s “Loving Tree” are double sided, mounted on blocks of painted wood, to accent the natural inspiration of the design.
